Founder Paul Blackburn, is a communications professional with considerable practical and senior leadership experience at the cutting edge of PR, medical education and advertising, founded on a base of pharmaceutical marketing expertise.
Moving from pharma sales and marketing at Merck and then Abbott as a Group Product Manager and into comms, Paul initially worked at Reginald Watts Associates, now Citigate. He went on to join and lead Edelman's UK healthcare practice. He then founded and was MD of Ketchum’s UK healthcare practice and grew it to be one of the largest in Europe. He was promoted and transferred by owners Omnicom to be MD of full service agency FleishmanHillard where he amassed considerable corporate, crisis, consumer and tech experience. He left to found three agencies of his own with Anna Korving – Resolute Communications, Resolute Communications Corporation (Manhattan), and Real Science. Those award winning businesses, still today significant players in global integrated health communications, were sold to Publicis to form a fully integrated agency – Publicis Life Brands Resolute, combining with Publicis’ Life Brands (advertising) – sister agency to Saatchi & Saatchi. Paul has now founded certain health as a progressive, hybrid, integrated health communications agency structured to optimise client outcomes, enabling clients to achieve more for any given budget.
His experience is considerable having led many successful, significant, PR, medical education and advertising programmes in global and national settings. This experience includes product launches, as well as the full remit of product and corporate communications activities across each discipline. It incorporates niche rare disease products to block busters, new technologies and devices, novel and common foods, consumer health goods and technologies. He has worked extensively with numerous third-party organisations including the WHO, The Carter Centre (President and First Lady Rosalyn Carter), national and international charities, patient organisations and many of the world’s leading experts and influencers in their field.
Paul has personally won many awards in PR and health communications, including Communique, PR Week, and PRCA awards.
